Swerve Strickland and New Level remain your AEW World Trios Champions, retaining the titles on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite. Wednesday night’s three-hour special episode opened with Strickland and New Level putting their titles on the line against The Demand. Ricochet and GOA, who are former champions, had been angling for a title for several weeks.

The nearly 18 minute match saw Ricochet and Strickland starting off, with Bishop Kaun delivering a kick early on to allow Ricochet to take control. Things quickly turned into a back and forth affair as Austin Creed was in trouble for a bit but was able to turn things around and dive onto Kaun, though he quickly got taken out by Toa Liona. Strickland got involved to make the save for his partner and Kofi got involved with a guillotine leg drop to Kaun.

The finish to the match saw Kofi and Liona left in the ring after everyone hit their offense. Kofi went for SOS and Strickland hit a House Call for the assist, leaning to Kofi pinning and the champions retaining.

After the match, Hangman Adam Page and Brodido came out and congratulated the champions, but suggested that the New Level can’t trust Strickland. Strickland countered that Page has a history of abandoning his tag team partners, and the previously-scheduled Trios Championship match was made official between the two teams for AEW All Out.

You can see clips from the match below. Strickland and the New Level have been Trios Champions for 25 days after winning the Roulette Royale at AEW All In.
