The Furious Flashbacks – Colt Cabana’s European Vacation
I decided to check out this double DVD after meeting Colt on August 5th. I picked it up from the Sanjay Bagga owned Wrestlestuff.com. A fine place for Brits to bag some wrestling action. This is Region O though so will play on DVD players across the globe. It’s also 110% Cabana endorsed. Loads of Cabana related material on here so let’s get cracking.
Cabana compares working in the UK to the USA – “people sit down more in grocery stores here”.
Colt Cabana v General Trent Steel
Copacabana reminds me to dread the release of the latest 3CW show because I know damn well I’ve been captured on film dancing to it. This is from BCW, up in Scotland. Bigger crowd than when I was there. Cabana keeps backing up on the handshake before tripping GTS up. He used that (GTS that is) in 3CW last time out. Cabana spins him in a circle and knocks him over again. Kids are loving this with a ripple of child laughter erupting from the crowd. Cabana with an inverted atomic drop. Cabana mocks GTS and gets the referee to check on the injury. SURFBOARD! I love that. More people should use that. Makes me sing the Hawaii 5-0 music. Cabana armdrags a bit and salutes. “TEEEEN-HUT”. He reverses a great deal while making GTS salute himself. That is until GTS goes low and proceeds with a lengthy heat segment. GTS bites him while the big guy off the FR forums chants Cabana’s name. Everyone else sits around looking bored. Awful crowd. Anyway, GTS runs into a big boot in the corner but Colt misses with a moonsault and gets pinned for 2. GTS chokes away but the referee doesn’t notice. GTS with a sideslam for 2. GTS comes off the top but misses. Cabana is feeling the comeback and he fires off with some punches. Whirl headscissors impresses the crowd. Knees in the corner but GTS blocks a monkey flip and pins with his feet on the ropes for a win. **1/4. The comedy was good at the start but it didn’t really go anywhere after that and the finish was a bit out of the blue.
POST MATCH we get a word with Cabana about cheating. He says he’ll feel better if the film crew bought him a chicken sandwich. But we’re in Libya…er…Scotland where chicken is actually lamb. Go to ColtCabana.com and buy some stuff.
ON THE ROAD – Cabana films driver Doug Williams. Cabana runs commentary on everything he sees while heading into McDonalds. “We got some Hindu people. They got towels on their heads”. “Hi Grandma”. “This is what we call a MILF”. “Some old people smoking”. “There’s a field”. “That’s Scotland”. Cabana goes roaming around the car park and finds STEVE CORINO. Awesome. He asks him how his meeting went with the Burger King executives.
PRE-MATCH Cabana talks about the FWA. He’s in Morecambe. He talks about James Tighe and how he’s looking forward to it. He says Tighe represents England really well.
Colt Cabana v James Tighe
Cabana asks for a handshake and does the OLE bullfighting trick. Tighe is less than impressed and we head to the wrestling. Tighe falls for the “hit the ropes and shoulderblock me” trick and he’s tripped up. Tighe charges again and Cabana sidesteps him sending him flying outside. He tries a third time but gets a drop toehold for his troubles. Headlock chaining takes them to the mat where Cabana controls. Back up but Cabana hits an armdrag and controls again. Back up and Tighe goes for a hip toss but gets blocked into an armdrag. Back up and Cabana dodges Tighe again into an armdrag. Cabana goes for another armdrag but Tighe grabs the ropes and hits a dropkick. “You suck balls” – Morecambe. Tighe ignores the jibes and hits a flipping neckbreaker for 2. Tighe tries for an elbow drop but gets twisted into a roll up for 2. Cabana goes for a backslide but Tighe reverses into a neckbreaker for 2. Cabana comes back with a block in the corner into a missile dropkick. Tighe charges but this time gets rolled up for 2. Cabana brings Da Dweem love with a bionic elbow. Cabana fires off a whirl headscissors. Double knees score and a suplex gets 2. Nice float over. He calls for the frog splash but Tighe cuts him off. SUPER CRAVATPLEX…gets 2. That was cool. All that neck work has to go somewhere though. Tighe chops away but the Tighetanic is blocked. Colt 45 is blocked into a fireman’s carry with a sweet flipping bridge. Tighe takes the pin. ***. Shame the neck work didn’t go anywhere but the match was really good. Cabana gets on the mic to tell Tighe that he was lucky and wants to keep going until someone gets knocked out. “Two men enter, one man leaves”. What is this? Mad Max III? Cabana goes for a piledriver but Tighe bails claiming the win. Cabana says he’ll be back to beat Tighe next time.
Colt Cabana v Kevin O’Neill
On to FCW then. “If I call you a fag that means cigarette right?” Cabana gets a “woooo” for taking off his ring jacket and then does an awesome shy, covering up thing. We get a popularity contest, which is won by Cabana. Kev complains of an early hair pull, which is false so Cabana tells the ref to make sure he stops lying. Cabana busts out the mad skills with some arm work into a cravat. Cabana ties Kev up and pins him for 2. Cabana suckers Kev into the shoulderblock challenge, which gets Kev tripped up. Kev goes to his missus for comfort. Kev wants a test of strength but he’s easily beaten. Kev resorts to stepping on Cabana’s hands. Cabana gets a finger massage from someone at ringside. “Cheers”. Cabana is getting British-ised. Cabana takes charge with a series of legal low blows. Kev bails and tries to get the same girl at ringside to massage his damaged area. Heh. Comedy. Kev goes to the eyes and then chokes with his boot. Kev’s missus helps with the heelishness. Kev hits a neck snap and a basement dropkick for 2. Cabana fires up so Kev kicks him in the nuts. “Oh, my bollocks”. HAHAHA. Kev drops an elbow for 2. Cabana gets a sunset flip for 2 then another roll up for 2. Backbreaker gets 2. Kev misses with a Walsall Jam. Cabana busts out some CHOPS~! TORNADO SUPLEX gets 2. He calls for the Colt 45 but the woman grabs his foot. Kev tries for his finish but Colt rolls him up for the pinfall victory. **. Decent little match. When I was looking down the list of opponents on this DVD Kevin O’Neill didn’t strike me as being the best of match-ups so if that’s the down side to this DVD we’re doing well.
POST MATCH Colt makes a phone call on a phone that’s visibly “out of order”. He’s calling his folks. “Hello, I’m in Europe”. Cabana talks about reality TV taking over England but he’s American so he’ll abide by the rules and switch his camera off. Then he proceeds to continue filming for his own amusement.
Colt Cabana v Robbie Brookside
We’re in Germany for this one. It’s WXW. German fans = CHANTING OUT OF TIME! They can’t pronounce “Brookside” either. “Fuck him up, Bruksite, fuck him up”. What the fuck is that? Wacky Germans. Cabana works the arm to start with. The whole set up here is weird with the fans sitting wherever the hell they want. Most of them have decided on standing so close to the ring that they are leaning on the apron. Brookside tries to monkey flip out but Cabana stays on the arm. Credit to these fans though – they just won’t stop chanting and making noise. Hand held stuff and Cabana takes that to the ropes then back to the mat in one fluid motion. Cabana ties up the arms again. Weird hearing Germans singing “Rule Britannia”. Duelling chants now. Cabana misses with a knee drop on the arm injuring himself in the process. Brookside circles until he has an opening and he takes Cabana to the mat with a leglock. He switches up to a half crab. Cabana gets out of the leg work by hooking the arm again. Headscissors out and Brookside hooks up the ankle to keep up the leg work. Cabana headstands out but Brookside blocks the dive for the headlock and slaps him right back in the headscissors. Cabana fights his way out on one wheel. Brookside goes after the knee but Cabana monkey flips him off and hits a crossbody for 2. Crossbody from Brookside for 2. He goes for another but gets caught. Cabana gets a backslide for 2. Wow, they turned it up a few gears there. Into a near falls sequence but Brookside flips on top for the pin. ***. Cabana couldn’t kick out because his knee was fucked. “Please come back” chant the Germans at Cabana as he hobbles over into a handshake.
Colt Cabana v Phil Powers
This is from Premier Promotions and was obtained from Shootingstarvideo.co.uk. Powers backs up into the ropes and Cabana gives him a double high five that Powers sells. They run the same sequence again but with Powers shoving him off. Cabana wins a shoving contest and hits a few armdrags. Powers is squealing like a girl. Powers breaks out the British reversals and they go into some awesome chaining. Powers spreads Cabana’s legs in an old British submission. Cabana goes to slap at him but gets his arm caught, which makes the pressure worse. Cabana reverses out into a wristlock, which he does short old school piledrivers on. The bell rings and Cabana gets confused but this is the end of round one.
R2 – They fight over a wristlock. Cabana wins due to his size advantage and flips over into a bridge. Both guys have great bridges there. Cabana does the same handheld stuff he did with Brookside but ends it by cranking at the wrist between his legs. Cabana busts out the fast dodging Nigel McGuinness stuff, which the crowd eats up. Cabana gets the pin and leads 1-0.
R3 – Powers bitches about getting a lack of respect. Cabana runs into a boot and Powers hits a senton press. Swinging neckbreaker leaves Cabana motionless but there’s no pinfall. Powers is looking to inflict some pain. He works over the arm as a receipt. Falcon Arrow gets 2. Powers ties the legs up into a pinning predicament but he uses the ropes like a cheating heel bastage so he doesn’t get the win. Bell rings but Powers claims to be stuck in the hold so he leaves it on for another 30 seconds.
R4 – Powers kicks Cabana’s leg away so Cabana goes to the Inoki defence. Powers hauls him up into an X-Factor (of all things). Cabana gets a backslide for 2. Powers reverses and uses the ropes but the ref spots it so he doesn’t get the pin. Powers up top with a splash for 3. 1-1 on the falls then. I’d rather he used something on the leg for that fall.
R5 – Cabana hits a crossbody for 2. Another gets 2 but a third one misses entirely. Powers covers but Cabana is in the ropes. Cabana hits the ropes but misses with a leg jam. They trade headscissors on the mat. Cabana adds in some chops and pins for 2. Powers hits back at the leg he worked earlier in the bout. Samoan Drop gets 2. Powers comes off the top again but misses and Cabana hits a slick springboard elbow smash. The round is over as Cabana continues to fight so Powers nut shots him.
R6 – Powers works at the ears on whichever side the ref isn’t checking. Fast hands, that man. Cabana gets a half Victory roll for 2. Cheeky roll up gets nothing because it’s into the ropes. Powers tries for a backslide but that’s blocked into a near fall, which in turn leads to a near falls sequence with Cabana rolling Powers around the ring. Cabana dropkicks Powers in the corner and tries for a flip pin but he’s in the ropes. Powers does the flip corner flip and celebrates but Cabana tosses him back in. Kryptonite Krunch over the knee leaves Powers down for the 3 count. ***1/2. That was a really good match.
Colt Cabana v Jonny Storm
This is for the FWA. Cabana has a large inflatable banana between his legs. “Welcome back”. Cabana goofs around with the boring ring announcer. Storm takes forever as he gets people to sign his petition. Cabana bails at the start of the match to add his signature. Cabana pokes at Storm’s face for his own amusement. They play that game where you slap hands. Cabana slaps Jonny on the head. “If you’re going to play, play serious”. Tell him, Jonny. They move in again and do something very rude. Cabana sniggers at hand vagina! Blocked hip tosses INTO A DANCE ROUTINE! Cabana leans Jonny backwards as he’s playing the girl. Then drops him and kicks him up the arse. Storm swings in return but misses and down come the straps. Storm pokes Cabana in the eyes and goes for a sunset flip but Storm’s tights come down. Storm goes for one and down comes Cabana’s tights. GAY! Both men rearrange their attire and we carry on. Storm assumes the position wanting to “go amateur”. “Jonny takes it up the arse”. Cabana can’t bring himself to touch him. “Will you get behind me” – Jonny. This is the gayest thing I’ve ever seen. To the mat then and Storm heads into the ropes to survive. Cabana doesn’t want to assume the position. Storm kicks him in the head. Springboard rana from Storm and he’s cranked up the seriousness. Fantastic Four into the Enzuigiri. Storm misses another springboard move and gets trapped in the Russian legsweep. They switch at speed and Cabana gets caught with a Diamond Cutter for 2. They chop each other on the floor but Storm is too fast and Cabana chops the ring post. Storm works over the injured hand. Jonny hits a Michinoku Driver but a second rope moonsault gets knees. DOUBLE SPRINGBOARD TOP ROPE HEADLOCK! Storm goes back to that injured hand up there. Cabana claps him around the head into a roll up for 2 but they start rolling it for a staggering series of one counts. EVERYONE FALLS OVER DIZZY! Including the referee. That’s way better than the first time I saw anyone do that. “Where am I? Kansas?” – Cabana. Quebrada press gets 2. Nice work Colt. Storm escapes a brainbuster and hits the Lungblower for 2. Storm blocks the Colt 45 so Cabana just slams him for 2. Missile dropkick misses allowing Storm time to swing around into a DDT for 2. Storm goes after the reverse rana but Cabana blocks it into a Final Cut with the leg for 2. WONDERWHIRL and both men are down. Storm eventually gets a pin for 2. Cabana hits a sunset flip into a near falls and Storm wins by using the ropes for a pin. ***3/4. That was REALLY good. The early comedy did kind of screw with some of the later wrestling but apart from that it was solid. The comedy was seriously funny though and had the crowd in stitches.
That’s the end of Disc One. Interesting to note that Cabana is 2-4 from the first six matches.
DISC TWO
Colt Cabana on the Bagpipe Report
With Blake Norton. Natch. Colt talks about working in England and how much he enjoys it even though it’s weird.
Colt Cabana v Jack Storm
This is from TAP. For those who don’t know him Jack looks like a chubbier version of Jonny Storm. Cabana has a plain blue singlet for some reason. Probably a lack of clean gear. He nearly topples off the stage in a comedy moment. He talks about going to university. There are two reasons for going to Uni – 1. Get an education. 2. “Smoke weed, drink beer and fuck chicks”. HAHAHAHA. Cabana tends to swear at the most unexpected times. Crowd starts singing Copacabana. Cabana with armdrags. CHOP~! Hello! I felt that one. Cabana ties Storm up for 2. Cabana suggests the count was a little slow. Colt runs his shoulderblock routine only after a few he just stops. “Oh, I get it” and falls over backwards. HAHAHA. “Oh, ow. I’m hurt”. HAHAHA. Brilliant. Hip toss reversals into the dance routine. Jack doesn’t like that and argues with the ref. Cabana lines up behind him and the ref pushes him over for 2. Cabana points out that a fan was laughing at Jack’s ass. Cabana out wrestles him with ease and works at a cravat before riding him around the ring like a horsy. Cabana grabs Jack’s foot but he spins out and hits a lariat for 1. KICKOUT OF DISRESPECT. Jack with a slam and he drops a leg for 2. Jack kicks at the fallen Cabana for 2. Jack gets fired up but Cabana punches at him. “Arriba” as the Flying Jalapeno scores for 2. BUTT THUMP gets 2. Jack blocks a brainbuster and hits a FISHERMAN BUSTER for 2. Cabana is back up though – THE CLAW! Jack breaks it and tries to put the Claw on Cabana using his own hand. Heh. Cabana valiantly fights out and hits a DDT. He starts gauging crowd reaction Hulk Hogan style before finishing with the legdrop. **1/2. That was really quite amusing.
ON THE ROAD – Cabana looks at magazines and newspapers checking out porn. He flicks through a Daily Star. He’s disappointed at the lack of nudity.
Colt Cabana v Cameron Knite
This is from FCW, again. This would be one of their bigger shows. Ref with the big orange Afro checks Cabana’s gear so Cabana checks his hair for nits. Heh. They both try for early falls but with no joy. Cabana controls on the arm but Knite escapes by crawling through his legs and flipping over onto the legs. Both men cartwheel back up and this is showing real promise. Test of strength is won by Cabana because of his size advantage and he does the same hand held stuff as in the earlier matches going to the arm in the process. Great bridge from Cabana in another near falls sequence. Headscissors from Knite and Cabana headstands out into the headlock. Headlock from Knite though and Cabana struggles to get free as Knite holds on. Knite switches to a Goku Raku stretch. Cabana lifts him off into a gutbuster. Cabana with the double knees and a knee strike to the midsection. Knite goes to the whirl into a Fujiwara armbar. His timing is a little out tonight. I think he’s a touch intimidated. To the ropes and Knite wins out with a high crossbody for 2. Wheelbarrow is blocked into a DDT for 2. Nicely done Cameron. Dropkick gets 2. Northern Lights gets 2. Slingshot senton gets 2. They reverse on suplexes and Knite hits his Triple Stunner for 2. Knite misses in the corner and gets hit with a Russian legsweep. Cabana tries to tap him with a cradle hold. No dice. Knite gets backdropped onto the buckles but comes off with a flying DDT for 2. That was nice. Swanton misses and Cabana is able to roll up Knite for the win. **3/4. Would have done better if Knite hadn’t been so nervous looking for the opening minutes. He got adjusted quickly to his credit and the match turned out fine as a result.
ON THE ROAD – Cabana tries to hit on a girl at a service station. No dice. He claims to be making a movie…about English people. He complains about Texaco. It should be Londonaco, surely? STEVE CORINO! He informs us that it’s not called that in Japan.
Interview
Colt is interviewed about the English trip. He talks about how the English fans are different. He talks about smart fans but the English fans are more into the old school wrestling but with a smattering of smart fans. He digs that. He talks about having good matches with Jonny Storm. He talks about learning from the older British wrestlers, which is what he’s come over for. He thinks he has a decent grasp of the British style. He talks about wanting to work with the old World of Sport guys. He’s especially looking forward to Johnny Kidd tonight. He talks about how more theatrical the venues are in England especially the Town Halls. He talks about how he’s really enjoyed watching World of Sport and how wrestling should be about a constant mental battle. He says it wasn’t hard to win over fans in England, Scotland or Germany. He talks about how cool all the obnoxious Germans were. He talks about doing the same thing repeatedly in America so he wanted to do something different. Hence, England. He wants to learn all styles but he’s become fond of British wrestling. He looks forward to showcasing the British style in America. He talks about how tough the match with Phil Powers was and how hard the round system was to adapt to.
Colt Cabana v Johnny Kidd
Cabana busts out some Russian dancing in the corner in front of the ref before checking him. I love Johnny Kidd wrestling his way out of the handshake before the match. That’s just brilliant.
R1 – Kidd goes after the arm and Cabana says “HEY” along with everything before rolling back into a reversal. Kidd reverses back and Cabana reverses back in a British style so Kidd takes it to the mat and reverses back faster. Kidd headlocks and teases a punch before cartwheeling out of an Irish whip. Colt busts out a forward roll to prove he can do athletics. Kidd takes him over into a headscissors. Cabana escapes but Kidd sticks his head back down there. Cabana headstands out. To the handheld stuff but that’s not to Kidd’s liking so he holds Cabana’s one hand down under his foot while he reverses around into a double arm stretch with his foot in Cabana’s back. That’s just fantastic. Why don’t they teach this anymore? Colt tries to front flip out but Kidd blocks and holds his arms again.
R2 – Kidd vaults over the ref to start and Colt is so freaked out by it he bails. “Oh my GOD”. Kidd goes after the leg and teases a low blow. When the ref tells him no he spreads the legs out. “I want kids when I’m older” – Cabana. He reverses out but Kidd straps him in the Goku Raku stretch. Cabana reverses it. Kidd does all the Nigel McGuinness stuff only better because he teases doing something he’s already done so Colt tries for a leg only to walk right into a roll up for 3. Nigel is faster but Johnny Kidd has more variation. If he was even five years younger they could market him huge in the USA.
R3 – Cabana vaults over the ref to start the round and breaks out a karate pose. Kidd isn’t very intimidated. Kidd gets his arm but Cabana blocks it by clasping hands and spinning. Then takes Kidd down with a top wristlock. Kidd slips out and we’re at an Indy standoff. Sort of. Cabana does his different version of the sunset flip, which leads to a great near falls. Cabana straps him in a body scissors, which he steps up to the “Colt Cabana presents” the Full Nelson Mandela. Kidd gets out and ties up Cabana’s legs. Cabana forward rolls out. Cabana has a bad knee now but keeps off it to tie up Kidd’s wrist. Then he switches to a cravat and works the neck over. Kidd swats at Cabana, which gets him trapped in a backslide for 3. 1-1.
R4 – Handheld and Kidd takes it to the bodyscissors in the defensive position. Cabana slides him down to try and get the mounted position. Christ, that sounds gay as hell. Sorry about that. They reverse up into a double headstand with the legs all still tied up. Kidd gets a waistlock but gives it up when someone in the crowd shouts “OOOOO”. Comedy. Kidd ties up Cabana’s head with his feet so Cabana sneaks out and ties up the legs before grabbing Kidd but the neck. Hey, another cravat. Sweet. Kidd does sit up’s to get himself out. Cabana with a waistlock and Kidd tries to drop out but it’s blocked. Kidd reverses instead into a full nelson. Cabana gets a leg and tries to tap him but the round is over.
R5 – Cabana turns his back and gets cheeky rolled up for 2. Crossface Chickenwing from Kidd and Cabana has to get into the ropes. Kidd meets him with a hammerlock. Cabana reverses out and this is all so pretty. Goku Raku stretch from Kidd and he tries to turn it over into a pin. No dice and the ropes break the hold. Back to the hammerlock and Cabana runs him out of the ring Bret Hart style. Kidd single legs him and Cabana powers him off to the floor. Cabana with a hip toss for 2. Kidd with a hip toss for 2. Cabana gets the winning fall via a ROLLING PRAWNHOLD! Awesome. ****. As with any Johnny Kidd match this was all kinds of fantastic.
POST MATCH Kidd addresses a few boo’s by suggesting that Cabana is one of the few Americans who was willing to wrestle him and not cheat.
Colt Cabana v Dirk Feelgood
This is the match from before Uprising III, I believe. If I hadn’t been so lazy I’d have been at that part of the show. Let’s see what we missed out on. Colt points out both guys have smiley faces on their ring gear. Dirk burns some fan in the front row and Cabana nearly falls out of the ring laughing. “He got you on that one!” Cabana works the arm. Dirk goes to Irish whip him off and Cabana sits down. “Nope”. Dirk does the same thing so Cabana ties him up and pins him for 2. Cabana does the criss-cross slap. Dirk tries it and gets slapped again. I keep seeing that spot and it never stops being chucklesome. Cabana with FIVE Atomic Drops. Dirk sells the ass. Dirk comes off the ropes but spots the foot up and knocks it back down again. The other foot bounces up and hits him in the head. Heh. Nice exploitation of some wrestling clichйs there. Cabana breaks out his British wrist kick for 2 before riding Dirk around the ring. He doesn’t seem happy about having his bottom touched. Cabana with his various rolling cradles for near falls. Both men down for comedy kick outs. I’m sure they stole that from Ebessan. Dirk heels on Cabana with a cheap shot. Cabana keeps kicking out so Dirk chokes him. Cabana spins out but Dirk is ready with a dropkick. Cabana fires up so Dirk goes to the eyes and hits a swinging Downward Spiral for 2. Cabana strolls out of the way of a Stinger Splash. Quebrada press gets 2. Cabana brings some extremely tricky British style and uses the McGuinness flipping and ducking finish for the win. **1/2. Started brightly with some awesome comedy but Dirk couldn’t keep up so well when the actual match kicked in.
EXTRAS, EXTRAS –
Colt Cabana v CM Punk
This would be from Uprising II. This is complete with an FWA shill – frontierwrestling.com for anyone interested. Lock up heads into the corner and Cabana does his high five. Punk looks less than impressed. Punk with a hammerlock. “YOWSER” – Cabana. Punk picks off the arm and keeps working at it. Cabana reverses but Punk flips using the ropes and they switch back and forth again. Cabana snap mares to escape a hammerlock but Punk keeps it on. To the mat and Punk reverses everything Cabana goes for into the hammerlock. Cabana tries thinking up the British escape but the only thing he comes up with is his own ring gear so he stamps on Punk’s foot. GENIUS! Cabana tries to scurry through Punk’s legs but Punk blocks into a pin for 2. I like the whole thing of selling Cabana as a student of British wrestling but it’s not working because he’s not familiar enough with it. Punk with a cravat. Cabana won’t go over so Punk pokes him in the eye. Cabana challenges Punk to knock him over with the shoulderblock then trips him up. I love that. Cabana dances to the fans singing his name and Punk hits “a stiff forearm”. Jesus commentators! Don’t call moves stiff for fuck’s sake. Punk with a spot of BOOT SCRAPING! Crowd chants for Punk now. Punk baseball slides out but Cabana catches him and throws him into the rail. Cabana heads up – ASAI MOONSAULT! Crowd chants “holy shit” and we get a close up on Punk…”holy shit”. Heh. Chopping on the floor. Cabana chops the ring post. Back inside Punk hits a backbreaker and the PEPSI TWIST gets 2. Spinal Tap gets 2. Vertical suplex w/delay leaves Cabana down selling the back. Legsweep neckbreaker gets 2. Punk calls for a big move and hooks a chinlock. He’s happy with the positive reaction to that. Cabana gets out and hits the tornado suplex for 2. Punk fires back with a spin kick for 2. Slack cover though so Cabana gets a roll up for 2. Punk escapes the Colt 45. Punk comes off the ropes but gets caught into the trapping hip toss slam. Punk charges but Cabana rolls him up for 2. Backslide gets 2. Punches from Cabana and a Bionic Elbow scores. Whirl headscissors but Punk escapes a back suplex. Cabana kills him with a LARIATOOOOOOOOOO for 2. Punk flips up out of the corner and hits the grapevine DDT for 2. To the ropes with Punk wanting the Pepsi Plunge. Cabana blocks it so Punk goes after a sunset flip bomb instead. Cabana slaps him in THE CLAW! Punk kicks him in the nuts, which Cabana takes exception to and KRYPTONITE KRUNCH OVER THE KNEE…gets 2. Punk busts out the REVERSE RANA…for 2. Punk calls for the finish. To the ropes – PEPSI PLUNGE! It’s over. Punk takes it. ****1/4. Great match. Probably the best I’ve seen between those two.
European Tour Music Video
I’m getting sick of the FWA’s music for Colt entitled “Good Times, Great Memories”. There’s also a photo gallery showing Colt with various UK landmarks.
EASTER EGG – Just below the menu on Disc Two in very small writing is “The Easter Egg is not here, do not even bother clicking this, honest”. That’s the link to Cabana filming Doug Williams at a urinal. Wacky.
Overall DVD thoughts –
This is a nice DVD package. You get some mostly unseen matches (unless you follow FCW closely) and some nice little comedy link pieces to spice things up. The additional Cabana commentary pieces make the DVD. The bonus of having the Punk match from British Uprising II just adds to what was already a quality DVD set. Thumbs up! Odd fact – Colt Cabana double DVD and doesn’t hit his finisher once.
