The Miz Names John Morrison As His Favorite Tag Partner, Talks Underrated WrestleMania Moments

The Miz has singled out John Morrison as his all-time favorite tag team partner. The A-Lister has had no shortage of tag team partners in his career from R-Truth and Damien Sandow to Big Show and more. His original tag team partner though was Morrison, who he teamed with back in the late ’00s. They reunited during Morrison’s return in 2020 and 2021.
Miz explained in an interview with Adrian Hernandez why Morrison remains his all-time favorite partner. He also weighed in on which of his WrestleMania moments are the most underrated. You can see the highlights below:
On His Favorite Tag Team Partner:
“John Morrison. And it’s not against anyone, just besides John was kind of my first intro to WWE tag team[s]. It’s my first tag team title. We literally made the Dirt Sheet. Which now, WWE’s YouTube channel is number one. Like, no one’s bigger than the the WWE YouTube channel. Maybe a couple people, I don’t know. But we started it. We started the YouTube channel for WWE. We had a show on there. And when it wasn’t popular, when it wasn’t the thing to do, we did that. And so I always look at that as like a nostalgia factor. And the fact that John and I are are very good friends even to this day. We still talk every day.”
On His Most Underrated WrestleMania Moment:
“We’re on the same page [regarding his match at WrestleMania 34 vs. Seth Rollins & Finn Balor]. Like literally, that’s the most underrated, in my opinion. I’ll also put in John Cena & Nikki Bella versus the Miz & Maryse as another one. That one nobody wanted. People were like, ‘John Cena and The Miz in a mixed tag match at WrestleMania? What? Are you kidding me? Ugh.” And then by the time we did it, it was like the talk of the entire show at WrestleMania. And then afterwards, it had the biggest buzz out of anything.
“So that was one of those things like, I always like being the underdog. And by the way, I always am and you don’t realize it. But I always feel like I’m the underdog. When I’m the underdog and I have a chip on my shoulder, nothing stops me.”
