Thekla Describes Her Beef With STARDOM’s Taro Okada, Says Tony Khan Is ‘Safe’ For Now

Thekla has weighed in on the reasons for her feud with STARDOM President Taro Okada, while noting that Tony Khan is safe from her “for now.” The AEW Women’s World Champion has had a notable on-screen feud with Okada, which led to her “firing” from STARDOM before she made her way to AEW.

Thekla’s beef with Okada is back in focus as AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door comes up this weekend, and she even showed up at STARDOM The Conversion and tried to shave Okada’s head. She weighed in on the matter in an appearance on TMZ Inside the Ring. Thekla noted that she projects her past issues with bosses onto Okada and said that Tony Khan, who seems scared of her, is “very safe” at the moment. You can see highlights below:

On Her Beef With Okada:

“Uh, yes, he is [terrified of her]. I don’t know. I’m sure, like everybody knows, everybody’s had like bosses, people they work they worked for. I feel like — I mean, and that might not 100% be on him, but I feel like I project a lot of all those bosses I used to work for who didn’t respect me, who didn’t pay me enough. You know, who tried to hit on me, all that stuff. I just project it all onto him, and this just makes me want to beat the hell out of him.

“Also, I was busting my ass in in Japan for five years and I got nothing out of it for most of the time. until I was like, ‘You know what? To hell with it. I’m just going to do my stuff,’ and he was always in my way. So, it’s just fun to get back at him.”

On If Tony Khan Is Scared Of Her:

“Yeah, he’s starting to get a little scared. I think — I can tell he does avoid me a little bit. But I mean, for now he’s very safe. Tony, you’re safe.”

On If Khan Has Barred Her From Approaching Okada:

“Dude, I don’t know. Nobody’s talked to me about that. I think everybody’s scared at this point. [laughs]”
