Tiffany Stratton Reveals WWE’s Original Plans for Her In-Ring Name

Reigning Women’s United States Champion Tiffany Stratton recently revealed the WWE name she almost received before debuting. In her latest Twitch stream, Stratton revealed that the company initially considered naming her “Veronica Swanson.”

“So, it was between Tiffany Stratton and Veronica Swanson. Do you guys think I look like a Veronica? Veronica Swanson,” she revealed.

Tiffany also revealed that she initially wanted to pitch ‘Darby’ for her WWE name so that she could be nicknamed “Darby Doll,” but she refrained from doing so, as she thought that the management wouldn’t approve it.

Nevertheless, the former WWE Women’s Champion likes her current name due to it being her mother’s real-life name. She continued, “But the name I would like—I actually thought about this a long time ago, and I’m like, ‘Why didn’t I put it down?’ I thought about doing the name, Darby, so I could be called the Darby Doll, but I don’t think they would have gone for that. I’m really happy (with Tiffany Stratton). It’s my mom’s name. I like the name Tiffany a lot.”
