Update On Potential In-Ring Return For Nick Aldis

Nick Aldis has been teased for a potential program with Gunther, and a new report has an update on his possible return to the ring. Aldis was announced on Monday’s WWE Raw as being put on “administrative leave” following his backstage altercation with Gunther on the WWE Night of Champions post-show. The post-show segment saw Gunther approac Aldis backstage and yelled at him about being screwed over by Sami Zayn’s addition to the Undisputed WWE Championship match. Gunther said Aldis was “jealous” of him, and the altercation turned briefly physical before it was broken up.
According to Wrestlevotes Radio on Fightful Select, there have been “significant” internal talks about an in-ring storyline between Gunther and Aldis, the latter of whom has not wrestled since 2023.
According to a source, the notion of Nick Aldis wrestling has been discussed several times before, including a proposed program with Solo Sikoa back in 2025. A Gunther and Aldis feud has also been discussed before, though not in the framing that is currently playing out.
The report notes that if a match does go down, it would be expected that it would be Aldis facing Gunther and not an Aldis-selected proxy.
