Wade Boggs Confirms Story Of Curt Hennig Saving His Life

Wade Boggs has confirmed a story about Curt Hennig saving his life back in the day during a hunting trip. The Greatest Show On Dirt Instagram account posted a story about Hennig and the baseball great a couple of days ago. The post featured a photo of the two together when Boggs was in attendance of a WCW show. The caption related a story about the two from a deer hunting trip in Iowa.
The caption reads:
Wade Boggs and Curt Hennig were legit best buds. They both lived in Tampa and were very close friends. One time, when they were deer huntin’ in Iowa, Wade got tangled up in some barbed wire. Curt got him out, and Wade was split open from his knee to his ankle. He was losing a lot of blood. Curt picked him up and carried him on his shoulders about three miles to the pickup truck and got him to the hospital. Saved his life right then and there. Wade said Curt was his guardian angel.
The story was posted to Twitter and Boggs was tagged, asking if there was truth to the story. Boggs confirmed the story and then shared a pic of himself and Hennig, writing:
“Here’s proof”
Boggs is considered one of the all-time great third basemen in Major League history. He played for 18 years, mostly with the Boston Red Sox but also with the New York Yankees and Tampa Bay Devil Rays. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2005.
Boggs appeared with Hennig (then Mr. Perfect) in a 1992 WWF segment and became friends with Hennig. Boggs originally related the story about Hennig saving him on he Life and Times of Mr. Perfect DVD.
