AEW released Episode 5 of the Rebuild & Destroy docuseries, showcasing Will Ospreay in his comeback journey after undergoing a double fusion neck surgery. You can check out the latest video below.
In Episode 5, Ospreay gets in a ring and runs the ropes for the first time since his neck surgery. He comments in the video, “First time I got in a ring since the surgery. Honestly, I was expecting to be a lot worse. I just felt like going in there without riding a bike. Obviously, we haven’t done any type of bumping yet, but in terms of, like, hitting the ropes, that’s the hardest I’ve ever hit the ropes in a very, very long time. And nothing feels out of place. So, that’s the best thing about it. I think it’s like looking for any, like, shooting down my arms, any tinglings or anything along those lines. And there’s nothing. There’s like nothing out of the ordinary.”
Ospreay continued, “I feel as good as I was when I first came in. So, obviously though, I haven’t taken a bump yet. So, I think that’s uh that’s going to be the next step. But in terms of all the rope running, all the up and overs, I think I passed. I think I feel like I did.”
The wrestler added, “Anyway, obviously, this is just I’ve got to play it safe and like AW is going to like guide me in these next steps just to make sure that I’m not putting my body at any type of risk. So I feel good, and I feel like very positive about this, about me, and it’s about like my body. So I’m good.”
The ultimate test of Ospreay’s comeback takes place tomorrow night at AEW All In: London 2026, when he challenges Kenny Omega for the AEW World Title. The event takes place at Wembley Stadium and will be broadcast live on pay-per-view.
