MJF was none too pleased about the announcement, writing:
“FIRST MATCH?!?

Briscoe earned a World Championship match against MJF when his team defeated MJF inside Death’s Door at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door. Briscoe said after the match that he didn’t want to wait and wanted his title match on Dynamite.
AEW Dynamite takes place from Viejas Arena in San Diego, California and airs live on TBS and HBO Max. The updated card for the show is:
* AEW World Championship Match: MJF vs. Mark Briscoe.
* AEW TBS Championship Survival Of the Fittest Match: Maika vs. Harley Cameron vs. Hikaru Shida vs. Persephone vs. Kris Statlander vs. Queen Aminata.
