Mark Briscoe has a World Title shot after his team won in a steel cage at at AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door thanks to a turn from Andrade El Idolo. Team Briscoe battled Team MJF inside the circular cage at Sunday night’s PPV, a bloody war that saw Briscoe among those busted open.

The match pitted MJF and the Don Callis Family members of Kevin Knight, Kyle Fletcher, Jake Doyle, Andrade, and Kazuchika Okada against Briscoe, Darby Allin, Konosuke Takeshita, and the Conglomeration’s Orange Cassidy, Roderick Strong, Kyle O’Reilly. The two teams battled for just over a half-hour and saw plenty of high spots and weapons brought into play.

The finish of the match saw Doyle holding up Briscoe for MJF but the World Champion, demanding fealty from Andrade, demanded that he hold Briscoe instead. Andrade, who has had issues with MJF for a while, held Briscoe up but when MJF came in for the diamond ring shot, Andrade dropped Bricoe and hit a back elbow to the champion. Doyle argued with Andrade, who delivered a low blow kick and tore off his shirt to reveal a tank top that read “F**k Don, F**K MJF.” Briscoe then hit Doyle with a Jay Driller for the pinfall victory.

After the match, Lexy Nair interviewed Briscoe backstage and he demanded his World Title match on this week’s AEW Dynamite. The match has not been confirmed as of this writing. You can see clips from the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door match below.
