WrestleMania 41 broke records for pro wrestling ticket sales with over $66 million in ticket sales, per a new report. POST Wrestling reports that live event trade publication Pollstar has new date noting that the two nights of last year’s PLE in Las Vegas grossed $66,074,558 in ticket sales.
As the site notes, if we assume that the new nights broke out in a roughly even fashion, the $33 million is much more than any pro wrestling event ever, even if you take inflation into account. As previously reported, the announced attendance at the events were 61,467 for night one and 63,226 for night two. The Las Vegas Sports Authority later announced the figures as 58,538 on Saturday and 60,103 on Sunday for 118,641 in attendance. However, Pollstar’s figures have a total of 113,412 which means that the Sports Authority likely includes more than just the tickets sold in their figures.
The average ticket sale for WrestleMania 41 was approximately $635. By comparison, the next-highest was WrestleMania 40 where the average ticket price was $341. WrestleMania 40’s two nights grossed $17.7 million and $18.4 million. The previous record holder adjusting for inflation was WrestleMania 32, which grossed $17.3 million which would be $23 million today.
WrestleMania 42 is returning to Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas and takes place on April 18th and 19th. The shows air live on ESPN Unlimited and Netflix internationally.
