Backstage Update on Some in WWE Wanting Worlds Collide Moved To Avoid Head-to-Head With PAC Tribute Show

WWE x AAA Worlds Collide 2026 aired on YouTube this past Wednesday, going head-to-head with the PAC tribute edition of AEW Dynamite.

Though the streaming date and time had been announced before PAC’s unfortunate death, many called for WWE to consider rescheduling the event. That obviously didn’t happen, as the show started streaming on YouTube an hour before Dynamite kicked off.

In this week’s issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (WON), Dave Meltzer reported that even though many in WWE hoped for Worlds Collide to be moved, there was no such consideration whatsoever on the part of the decision-makers.

Worlds Collide was headlined by a six-man tag team match that pitted CM Punk, AAA Mega Champion El Grande Americano, and Rey Mysterio against Dominik Mysterio, Omos, and JD McDonagh. The show ended with an epic face-off between Oba Femi and Omos. According to Meltzer, the show averaged 76,000 viewers worldwide. More on that HERE.
