WWE has added a new referee to the WWE NXT brand, as revealed in a social media post on Friday afternoon. NXT referee Adrian Butler posted to his Instagram to welcome Katie Reynolds to the NXT referee team, as you can see below.
Butler wrote:
“This weekend’s WWE NXT Live Events in Ft. Pierce and Citrus Springs will see the debut of our new referee Katie Reynolds! Welcome to the team, Katie! #wwe #wwenxt #wweraw #smackdown @refalicelane @wwerecruit”
Reynolds, aka Alice Lane, has worked as a referee for both TNA and Ohio Valley Wrestling. As Butler noted, Reynolds is starting with this weekend’s NXT house shows.
Reynolds is perhaps best known to wrestling fans for officiating the Mike Santana vs. Steve Maclin match at TNA Sacrifice which ended quickly after Maclin was knocked loopy by a kick to the head moments after the bout began. She was publicly acknowledged by TNA for acting quickly to stop the match, with Carlos Silva presenting her with an All Star Award.
