AEW star Anthony Bowens has reportedly garnered some interest from WWE amid reports of his current deal with the Tony Khan-led company expiring shortly.

As noted, Fightful reported earlier this week that Bowens’ AEW contract is set to expire on October 1. The report claimed that the deal has not been extended and negotiations between the concerned parties have yet to begin.

In this week’s issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (WON) [via WrestlePurists on X], Dave Meltzer reported that there is at least some interest within WWE in securing Bowens’ services. However, he didn’t mention anything other than this.

Anthony Bowens signed with AEW in 2020 and was a member of The Acclaimed, holding the World Tag Team and the World Trios Championships at one point, before its disbandment in 2025. He joined The Opps earlier this year and most recently competed during the Buy In portion of All In: London, teaming with HOOK, Katsuyori Shibata, and Action Andretti to take on Lio Rush and The Rascalz in an eight-man tag team match. He ended up taking the pin in that bout.

Interestingly, in 2023, Bowens revealed he actually agreed to sign with WWE in 2019 before ultimately opting to join All Elite Wrestling.
