Zaria Retains Women’s North American Title In Fatal Four-Way On WWE NXT

Zaria ended up defending her NXT Women’s North American Championship in a Fatal Four-Way match on this week’s WWE NXT and walked out still the champion. As noted, Layla Diggs was originally scheduled to challenge Zaria for the title on tonight’s show, but was pulled after suffering an injury over the weekend. Robert Stone had promised a North American Title match on the show regardless.

Instead of defending against one person, Zaria put the title up against two of the three people Diggs beat for a title shot in Lizzy Rain and Izzi Dame, plus WWE EVOLVE Women’s Champion Nikkita Lyons. The champion proved up to the challenge despite an attack from Nattie and Karmen Petrovic, who tried to help Lyons. Jaida Parker came down and neutralized the two, and Zaria and hit Lyons with a spear to pick up the win and retain her championship.

You can see clips from the match below. Zaria has been champion for 36 days, having won the title from Tatum Paxley on the June 9th episode of WWE NXT.
