Michael Jai White Wants to Play Green Lantern: ‘Can’t Let Down the Fans’

Michael Jai White has heard the fan demand to have him play Green Lantern, and he’s down with it. White did a Q&A on Instagram and when asked which comic book character he would like to play, noted that there’s considerable fan demand for him to play the John Stewart.

“So, I was asked what character would I like to play from the Marvel or DC universe,” he said (per JoBlo). “And that answer would have to be from the DC universe, a character called John Stewart because that’s what everybody wants me to play. So, can’t let down the fans.”

White is no stranger to the DC universe, having played White Tiger on Arrow. He also of course played an iconic Image character in Spawn, toplining that 1997 film opposite John Leguizamo. White may well get his chance, as HBO Max is developing a Green Lantern live-action series that will debut on the streaming service down the line.
