Netflix Aiming For 2021 Filming Start For Extraction Sequel
Netflix had a huge hit in 2020 with the Chris Hemsworth-starring action flick Extraction, and the sequel is aiming for the sequel to begin filming next year. Producers Joe and Anthony Russo spoke with ComicBook.com and confirmed that they are still working on the script for the film, and that they are excited to get back to filming.
“Yeah we’re still working on two,” Joe Russo said. “We’re in the script phase right now but we’re hoping to shoot that sometime next year. And then you know, say I’m super excited, Hemsworth’s super excited, Netflix is excited so it’s really just a function of getting the script done.”
Extraction starred Hemsworth as Tyler Rake, a mercenary haunted by his past who is sent on a job to rescue a young boy becomes the pawn in a war between notorious drug lords. The film also starred David Harbour, Derek Luke, Fay Masterson, Golshifteh Farahani and newcomer Rudhraksh Jaiswal and is one of the most-streamed films of 2020 thus far.
