Kelani Jordan Says She Is A Student Of The Game; Reveals Wrestlers She Loves To Study

Reigning TNA Knockouts World Champion Kelani Jordan recently revealed what differentiates her from her colleagues in NXT.
The NXT women’s division is stacked with world-class, talented performers. Hence, it’s easy to get lost in the shuffle. However, Jordan feels her work ethic separates her from the rest. In a recent interaction with Denise Salcedo, the former Women’s North American Champion revealed that her biggest separating factor is that she is truly a student of the game, someone who doesn’t shy away from studying the work of proven greats of the business.
“I know everyone works hard, but I feel, like, the biggest separating factor for me, I would say, is [that] I study a lot. I’m very much a student of the game because I didn’t grow up watching wrestling my whole life. I kind of got a late start when it comes to, like, watching. So, I was like, ‘I need to make up for lost time.’ So, I study, like, a lot,” Kelani Jordan said.
Jordan added that she loves to study greats like Shawn Michaels, Eddie Guerrero, RVD, Lita, and more, and is constantly working on picking the brains of greats and of those at the WWE Performance Center.
“Like a lot of greats I study. HBK, of course, RVD, Eddie Guerrero, Lita, you name it. I don’t know what other people do. I kind of just worry about myself. But I know, for me, I study a lot of films. Not even of myself. More so of just, like, the people, who are, like, the Hall of Famers, people who’ve been there, who’ve done it. And I also like to pick the greats’ brains, the people who are here at the Performance Center. We have all these people who have travelled the world. And I really sometimes just sit down with them and just pick their brain. Ask them just to get that knowledge that I don’t know. I’m not afraid to say, ‘I don’t know!’” [9:18-10:14]
Kelani Jordan is in her first reign as TNA Knockouts World Champion. She defeated Lei Ying Lee for the then-vacant title at Victory Road this past September. She has since had successful televised defenses against Indi Hartwell, Jordynne Grace, Heather By Elegance, and M By Elegance.
