AEW veteran Jeff Jarrett’s role within the company seems to have changed drastically.

Jarrett joined All Elite Wrestling in November 2022 and was subsequently announced as AEW’s Director of Business Development by Tony Khan. However, that no longer seems to be the case, according to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful.

In a recent Q&A session with Fightful Select, a fan asked Sapp if Double J’s role in the company had changed over the years. Sapp noted that Jarrett was “moved out of his office role” over a year ago and is now primarily working as a signed talent. Sapp added that this is just another case of AEW moving on from veterans to showcase young talent on its television programming.

Last January, Jeff Jarrett announced that he had signed what would be his last wrestling contract with AEW. He subsequently set his sights on the AEW World Championship. He went on to compete in a Casino Gauntlet Match to earn a shot at the world title, but the veteran failed in his pursuits. Jarrett then entered a storyline with MJF. However, it was not well-received by fans, and he has yet to compete on TV since then.

Interestingly, in November 2025, it was reported that Jarrett is no longer AEW’s Manager of Live Events.
