The WWE Slammy Awards won’t be taking place this year, according to Cathy Kelley. Kelley appeared on a recent episode of Zelina Vega and Charlie’s Zelvx and Charlie Girl. During the conversation, she revealed that WWE has no plans for the semi-annual awards in 2025 as of now.
“It’s actually not happening this year,” Kelly said (per Fightful). “WWE World is like a little bit different, and so there are a lot of other things going on.”
The Slammy Awards have been an intermittent thing in WWE since making their debut in 1986. The 2024 and 2025 editions of the awards were announced at WWE World over WrestleMania weekend. Kelley and Big E. hosted the awards both years, which included such categories as Male and Female Superstar of the Year, Best Entrance, Best Return, OMG Moment of the Year, and more.
Before that, the most recent Slammy Awards were in 2020 and took place at the end of the year. No word as of yet on when they may come back.
WrestleMania 42 takes place on April 18th and 19th at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada. The show will air live on ESPN Unlimited in the US and on Netflix internationally.
