Paramount Pictures released a new trailer for the upcoming new live-acton Street Fighter movie, featuring more new footage and a bigger overview of the movie’s plot. The movie’s cast features multiple wrestling stars, including former WWE Champion Cody Rhodes as Guile, World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns as Akuma, and NJPW star Hirooki Goto as E. Honda. You can check out the new trailer below.

The new reboot is set in 1993. It follows the estranged martial arts brothers, Ryu (Andrew Koji) and Ken Masters (Noah Centineo), as they’re thrown back into combat when the mysterious Chun-Li (Callina Liang) recruits them for the next World Warrior Tournament.

Based on the trailer, it appears Ryu and Ken had a falling out. Ryu left fighting and martial arts behind him, sensing the malevolent Dark Hado power growing within him. Meanwhile, Ken feels stuck in Ryu’s shadow. The trailer also hints at Chun-Li wanting revenge against Bison, likely for the murder of her father.

However, this tournament holds a deadly conspiracy that forces them to face off against each other and demons of their past. If they don’t rise to the occasion and FIGHT, it will be GAME OVER!

Based on Capcom’s iconic video game franchise, Street Fighter is directed by Kitao Sakurai. It will be released exclusively in theaters on October 16.
