Report Reveals Who Made The Decision To Move WWE Crown Jewel

The Saudi Arabian government reportedly moved WWE Crown Jewel to a smaller venue in Riyadh, not WWE or its parent company, TKO. According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the government decided to relocate the November 7 event. WWE Crown Jewel was originally scheduled for Riyadh Season Stadium but will now take place at the ANB Arena.
The venue change was announced on October 28. The ANB Arena, also known as The Venue, is an indoor facility with a capacity of approximately 6,000 fans. The original location was a temporary outdoor stadium in Riyadh’s King Abdullah Financial District. The newsletter reported that the government intended to show that major events “will still go on” and that conditions remained “normal enough” to host them.
The decision came amid regional security concerns involving missile and drone strikes. US Embassy in Riyadh has also issued a statement ahead of WWE Crown Jewel 2026.
The event currently features four announced matches. World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns will face Undisputed Champion Sami Zayn for the Men’s Crown Jewel Championship, while Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan challenges Women’s Champion Chelsea Green for the Women’s Crown Jewel Championship.
The World Tag Team Championship will also be on the line as champions Bron Breakker and Austin Theory defend against Penta and Je’Von Evans. Meanwhile, Cody Rhodes will face Randy Orton in a Last Man Standing match.
WWE Crown Jewel will stream exclusively through the ESPN app for ESPN Unlimited subscribers and, internationally, on Netflix.
