Hello everyone, and thank you for reading 411mania’s UFC on ESPN 64 report. I’m Robert Winfree and I’ve got your results. I wasn’t able to cover this one live but I hope you’re not too upset about that, real life takes priority on occasion. Anyway we’ve got a decent little card here on paper. The main event is a relevant flyweight fight as former two time flyweight champion Brandon Moreno looks to put himself back into the title picture against Steve Erceg. Erceg fought for the title but came up a little short to Alexandre Pantoja and he’ll be looking to get himself back into the title picture with his biggest win to date. We lost Kelvin Gastelum vs. Joe Pyfer due to a Pyfer illness, which is a little unfortunate as that was going to be a telling fight for both men. But we’ve got a fair amount of Mexican fighters as the UFC is back in Mexico for this one, and while they’re not being given gimme fights there’s an undeniable potential for the natives to have a good night overall. So let’s hope the action lives up to the promise for this card.

UFC on ESPN 64 comes to the world from Arena CDMX in Mexico City, Mexico. Jon Anik, Daniel Cormier, and Laura Sanko are providing commentary. Keep in mind the elevation in Mexico City, as well as the regular sized cage and how all the rule changes are still in play.

Austin Hubbard has gone 1-2 since returning to the UFC in 2023, he’s coming off of a split decision loss though and is looking to avoid his first ever losing streak. MarQuel Mederos had a solid UFC debut over a year ago, he’s had a couple of fights fall out since then but now he’s back and looking to extend his seven fight winning streak. The odds like Mederos at -140 to +120 for Hubbard.

The First Round Finish Club thanks Mr. Gautier for his work. Medina isn’t happy with that stoppage but that was fine from where I sit. Gautier gets an interview and he says he can knock anyone out and knows who he is and wants whoever is next up. He talks us through the finish and puts over his corner.

Rolando Rodriguez is on a seven fight winning streak including being 2-0 in the UFC, but he did miss weight here. That said, a win always helps smooth over a weight gaff and flyweight could always use more prospects. He talks about training hard and spending almost two months in Mexico getting ready for this fight.

David Martinez brings a seven fight winning streak into his UFC debut, and he’s looking to capitalize on his only chance to make a good first impression on the audience. Pretty textbook example of a pull counter 2, Martinez baits the left out of Oliveira then when it falls short he returns to range and crushes him with that right hand.

Raul Rosas Jr. has gone 4-1 in the UFC and is on a three fight winning streak, he’s looking to begin the difficult transition from prospect to contender with another win here.
