Ultimate Fighter 28 Heavy Hitters

The Ultimate Fighter 28: Heavy Hitters Episode 11
INTRODUCTION: Season 28 of the Ultimate Fighter is here. This season will feature women’s featherweights and men’s heavyweights divisions, and the coaches are current UFC Middleweight Champion Robert Whittaker battling against title contender and former middleweight The Ultimate Fighter 17 winner Kelvin Gastelum. LAST WEEK, Pannie Kianzad defeated Julija Stoliarenko via unanimous decision. This week, Juan Francisco Espino Diepa (8-1, 0-0 TUF, 1-0 TUF) vs. Maurice Greene (5-2 MMA, 1-0 TUF).

– Gastelum praises Greene as a hard worker despite his personal issues. Greene says that Diepa is a bitch who is only good thing and wins on points and can’t hit hard. Oh I fucking hope that Diepa starches him and puts him to sleep.

– At the house, Team Whittaker complains about the poor training they are receiving, claiming that they aren’t learning anything and aren’t being pushed. They can’t wait to get back to their regular training. We go to Team Whitaker training, some of them decide to spar, and Whittaker isn’t happy. Whittaker questions their work ethic, which I find questionable as they want to work harder. The coaches mock them for thinking they know more than they do. Whittaker says they all think that they are too good, again, it’s not the case; his feelings are hurt basically.

– The Team is frustrated with Whittaker and trains on their own in their free time. They are all much happier doing this and actually sparring. Back at the house they watch UFC 227. Greene gets irrationally angry when he misses something as he fell asleep and demands they rewind. Some of the others were also upset but there was too much drama over a video package. The caches question Greene smoking so close to his fight, but he claims he’s done it his entire career.

– Diepa drills his wrestling and standup game.

– It’s coach’s challenge time. It’s a running challenge (5k race), the winning coach gets $10,000, while their team gets $1,500 each. It’s 106 degrees out. Whittaker is smoking Gastelum, who looks like he may die. He then starts throwing up. That allows Whittaker to lap him and win with ease. Whittaker is a beast and never slowed. Gastelum’s team joins him for his final lap and finish together.

WEIGH-INS: Diepa (257.5), Greene (261).

– We get the usual pre-fight prep.

Juan Francisco Espino Diepa (8-1, 0-0 TUF, 1-0 TUF) vs. Maurice Greene (5-2 MMA, 1-0 TUF): ROUND ONE: These two have talking mad shit to each other all season. Greene has basically been a raging alcoholic and smoking like a chimney his entire time in the house; I’d be absolutely shocked if he won here. Diepa has the MMA experience and vast wrestling advantage, while Greene has the striking edge and is taller, but reach is even. They circle, keeping distance, and Diepa STARCHES GREEN WITH AN OVERHAND RIGHT and follows with ground and pound, and transitions to side control and then mount. Greene give sup his back and it tapped almost immediately after doing so. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Greene acts like a baby as Diepa celebrates. Hilarious, couldn’t happen to a nicer guy. OFFICIAL DECISION: Juan Francisco Espino Diepa via RD1 submission
