Elisabeth Moss says the planned sequel to the 2020 hit The Invisible Man is getting closer to becoming a reality. The 2020 film was a critical hit and grossed $144.5 million, with talk of a sequel being reported in May of that year. Not much has been heard about the movie yet, but Moss noted during the Happy Sad Confused podcast that the film is moving forward and she feels “very good” about it’s progress.

“Blumhouse and my production company [Love & Squalor Pictures]… we are closer than we have ever been to cracking it,” Moss said (per Bloody Disgusting). “And I feel very good about it. We are very much intent on continuing that story.”

The 2020 film, inspired by the Universal classic, starred Moss as Cecilia Kass, a woman being gaslit and stalked by her psychotic and abusive ex-husband (Oliver Jackson-Cohen) who has a high-tech suit that confers invisibility. Cecilia ends up with the suit at the end of the film, walking off with it once she earns her freedom. Leigh Whannell, who wrote and directed the original film, was last reported to be working on the follow-up.
