Andrea Lee Settles With NSAC, Carlos Diego Ferreira’s Suspension Extended
The NSAC has made moves on two pending suspensions on their docket. MMAjunkie reports that the commission has agreed in principle to a settlement with Andrea Lee and approved the extension of a temporary suspension of Carlos Diego Ferreira.
Lee has agreeed to a nine-month suspension and 30% fine of her $3,000 purse from Invicta FC 16, where she tested positive for a pair of diuretics following a loss to Sarah D’Alelio. The deal is not yet done though, as Lee’s reps raised questions about the language of the agreement which led to the commission tabling the matter. The supension would be retroactive to the date of the loss, meaning she would be able to fight again on December 11th.
Meanwhile, Ferreira’s temporary suspension came after he was flagged by the USADA for a potential violation. The out-of-competition drug test revealed the presence of anabolic agent osterine and he was pulled from his fight with Abel Trujillo at UFC Fight Night 88 as a result. The NSAC said that it hasn’t yet heard from Ferreira about the complaint and extended the suspension until June 21st.
