Dana White Slams Jason Aldean For Choosing Saturday Night Live Over UFC 216 After Vegas Shooting

Dana White is not happy with Jason Aldean for playing Saturday Night Live instead of UFC 216 after the Las Vegas shooting. White spoke with TMZ and said that he offered Aldean the opportunity to perform the National Anthem at UFC 216 on Saturday night. The gig would have had Aldean perform in front of fifteen survivors of the shooting incident, which happened with Aldean was on stage at a country music festival last weekend, as well as hundreds of first responders.

White said that Aldean’s team turned down the offer, claiming the singer was shaken up and may never perform live again. He says Aldean turned it down knowing that the survivors would be at the event, only to go perform on Saturday Night Live at the same time as the PPV.

“His image was more important then coming back to Vegas and playing for the people who are his fans and who got shot watching him play,” White said. “F**k you Jason Aldean. Stay out of Vegas.”

White went on to say that he reached out to several country music stars, all of whom declined. He noted, “Country music was attacked. Those were country music fans…Those are people who buy your albums and none of you country music people could sing the anthem in front of survivors and first responders?”

Everlast performed the National Anthem at the UFC event, drawing praise from White. “This isn’t about money,” he said. “This is about the bad-ass people who fought through this s**t that this coward did.”
