Dana White’s Power Slap Not Airing on TBS For Season Two
TBS is done with Dana White’s Power Slap, as the series will move off the network for its second season. MMA Fighting reports that the controversial series, which debuted on TBS in January, will not continue on the network following season one’s conclusion last Wednesday.
The move is not a surprise; the show was controversial for its promotion of slap fighting, and White had already announced that he a deal in principle to move the show full-time to the streaming platform Rumble for two years. White noted on The Pat McAfee Show:
“I’ve come to a two-year deal for [Power Slap]. We haven’t done the deal yet but we have a term sheet. I have a term sheet with Rumble for the next two years to deliver two more episodes of the reality show, Power Slap, and eight live fights, and I’m working on a deal right now to film season 2 on Fight Island in Abu Dhabi.”
The first season was taped in Las Vegas, thanks to the Nevada Athletic Commission voting to sanction the sport in October, though former NAC chairman Stephen Cloobeck has since said, “I made a mistake. I’m not happy about it.”
