James Thompson Tests Positive For Steroid Following Bellator 191 Loss

Heavyweight fighter James Thompson has tested positive for a steroid following his submission loss to Philip De Fries at Bellator 191. MMAjunkie reports that according to Mohegan Tribe Department of Athletic Regulations Executive Director Mike Mazzulli, Thompson has been suspended for a year retroactive to December 15th after testing positive for drostanolone. Drostanolone is an anabolic-androgenic steroid and is banned outright by WADA.

Thompson has also been fined $2,000 and must submit a clean drug test to be relicensed to fight.
