Joseph Benavidez Isn’t a Fan of Superfights: ‘Nothing Good Comes Out of It’

Joseph Benavidez spoke with MMAjunkie for a new interview discussing his win over Dustin Ortiz and more. Highlights are below:
On superfights: “It sounds fun, but nothing good ever came out of it. It’s literally to get on the list of double champs, but no one defends. People are like, ‘I did it, (and) I’m not going to fight there again.’”
On his rematch with Dustin Ortiz: “The fight didn’t make sense in the first place. It was a weird fight, but we went through it and went through the charade. Now, it’s like, let’s get back to regular stuff.”
On a possible title shot: “I’ve done the interviews and done my due dilligence in reaching out. It’s not a question. I want it, and the reasons why, I think everybody knows, which is great.”
