Louis Smolka Wants to Get a Five-Round Fight

Louis Smolka spoke with MMAjunkie about his next fight and more. Some highlights are below:

On wanting a five-round fight: “I’d love to get some five-round fights. I would really welcome that challenge. If we can throw something at (UFC matchmaker) Sean Shelby, if I could get some media to campaign for that, that would be great…I would love five-round fights because at flyweight, it’s so hard to break people. Everybody has great cardio. It’s hard to break people.”

On wanting to fight in Hawaii: “I would love to fight at home. I would love to. Hawaii, get on it. Start asking for the Hawaii card. I don’t know what else we need to do.”

On his win at Fight Night 91: “I really wanted to go out there and show everyone the Louis that shows up to the gym everyday – show everyone the Louis that’s in practice. I feel like I really haven’t been able to do that yet, but I’m trying to. Honestly, fighters, we put our heart and soul into fighting. This is us. This is everything. To actually get the win is magical. It’s amazing.”
