Marco Beltran Talks About His UFC Fight Night 90 Win
In an interview with MMA Junkie, Marco Beltran (8-3 MMA, 3-0 UFC) spoke about his UFC Fight Night 90 win over Reginaldo Vieira (13-4 MMA, 1-1 UFC), which he won in the second round with a guillotine choke. Here are highlights:
On it reminding him of an earlier fight: “It was a really similar situation when I fought like six years ago with another guy – it was the same. He tried to take a footlock, and I keep going with my ground-and-pound. When that happened in the cage and it gave me the same feeling as the other fight, I kept going and got the submission. When I went to him and hit him, I could see in his eyes – he had it in his eyes.”
On wanting a finish: “My last two fights went to decision, so yeah – I thought now, this time I need a submission or knockout. He’s a tough guy – a very tough guy. He’s really strong. I defended some takedowns and I was able to get the submission.”
