Mirko Cro Cop Passes First Bellator Drug Test Before Bellator 200

April 18, 2018 | Posted by Jeremy Thomas

Mirko Cro Cop has set the stage for his fight with Roy Nelson at Bellator 200, passing his first drug test for the company. MMAjunkie reports that Cro Cop was tested in early April and came back negative for performance enhancers and drugs of abuse.

Cro Cop is facing additional attention due to his anti-doping violation in November 2015 while under UFC contract, when he acknowledged the use of growth hormone and received a two-year suspension despite testing negative ahead of his cancelled fight against Anthony Hamilton at UFC Fight Night 79.

Mohegan Tribe Department of Athletic Regulation president Michael Mazzulli said that as long as Cro Cop passes his drug tests, he’ll be good to go. He said, “The last thing I want to do is adversely affect a guy’s career. There’s only so many years they have the ability to earn. In my opinion, and in the Mohegan Tribe’s opinion, 2015 was three years ago, so it’s time to allow him to fight and make a living.”
