MMA Fighting reports that a heavyweight fight between Shane Carwin and Amir Aliakbari has been added to the quarterfinals of the RIZIN World Grand Prix open weight tournament. It happens on December 29 in Saitama, Japan. Other quarterfinal fights include Mirko “Cro Cop” Filipovic vs. Wanderlei Silva, Tsuyoshi Kosaka vs. Baruto Kaito and light heavyweight Valentin Moldavsky vs. heavyweight Szymon Bajor.

The semifinals and finals happen on December 31 in the same city. The winner of Filipovic vs. Silva fights the winner of Baruto vs. Kosaka, while the winner of Carwin vs. Aliakbari fights the winner of Moldavsky vs. Bajor.
