It director Andy Muschietti would like to edit the two films of the franchise into an epic-length “supercut.” Muschietti spoke with Entertainment Tonight and said that he would like to see the film come together into a massive version that would include additional content and run six hours.

“We’re in talks with the studio to make a supercut, which is basically the two movies edited together with all the material that is not in the released versions,” the director said. “And yeah, there are a couple of scenes that I want to shoot to make this a new experience.”

Muschietti said that the film would include the scenes that were cut out, as well as the new content he wants to film. Asked about the scenes that would still need to be shot, he said, “One thing is from the novel and the other thing is not. I want to be a little cryptic about it.”

Both It films have been huge hits, with the most recent already at $109.6 million domestically and $220.4 million worldwide in just six days.
