Bill Skarsgård has become one of the great horror actors with his role as Pennywise in the It duology, and in the right circumstance he’d do it again. Skarsgård spoke with EW promoting It: Chapter 2 and said that he would be interested in reprising the role of “It” under certain circumstances.

“It would have to be the right type of approach to it,” Skarsgårdsaid. “The book ends where the second movie ends, so that is the final chapter of this story. There is this interesting aspect of going back in time before all this happened. There might be a story there that might be worth exploring. Obviously that would be a story that’s not in the book, it would be a freestanding story, but obviously within the same universe. So, there might be something interesting out of it. I think it would be fun.”

Franchise director Andy Muschietti said in a recent interview that there is plenty of potential mythology to explore in another film, but added, “…For now, there’s nothing on the table.”
