The 78th annual Golden Globes award were a bit glitch-riddled this year, but once the dust settled Borat Subsequent Moviefilm, Nomadland, and The Crown were the big winners. The Crown took home the most wins for the night with four awards, winning Best TV Series – Drama, Best Actress in a Drama Series (Emma Corrin), Best Actor in a Drama Series (Josh O’Connor), and Supporting Actress in a TV Role (Gillian Anderson). On the film side, Nomadland and the Borat sequel each took home two wins, tying with Pixar’s Soul for the most film wins of the night. Nomadland won Best Motion Picture – Drama and Best Director for Chloe Zhao, while Borat Subsequent Moviefilm won for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy and Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy for Sacha Baron Cohen. Soul won Best Animated Film and Best Original Score (Trent Reznor, Atticus Ross, and Jon Batiste).

The award show was hosted by Tiny Fey and Amy Poehler, but the biggest story about the show itself was the technical glitches. Hosted virtually due to the pandemic, the show featured several awkward moments including Best Supporting Actor in a Motion Picture winner Daniel Kaluuya not having audio for his speech initially, as well as several instances of people being audible when they didn’t seem like they were supposed to be. Several people spoke at length through the music intended to play them off as well.

The other big winner among the TV categories was The Queen’s Gambit, which won Best Limited Series, Anthology Series, or TV Movie as well as Best Actress in a Limited Series or Television Movie for Anya Taylor-Joy. You can see the full list of winners below:
