Courteney Cox In Talks For Scream 7

Gale Weathers is going back to battle Ghostface, with Courteney Cox in talks for Scream 7. Deadline reports that Cox is in discussions to return as Gale in the upcoming seventh film. Spyglass declined to comment on the news.

Cox would join Neve Campbell in the upcoming movie, which is being directed by Kevin Williamson. Campbell and Williamson’s involvement were announced earlier this month after the franchise’s plans were thrown awry by Spyglass firing Melissa Barrera in November due to comments she made about the Israeli-Palestine conflict, along with Jenna Ortega not be returning due to her commitments to Wednesday season two. Director Christopher Landon announced that he had exited in December.

Guy Resnick wrote the script for the as-yet-untitled seventh entry from a story he and James Vanderbilt came up with. No word as of yet on the film’s plot or a release date.
