Coyote vs. Acme Heading to Cannes Market For International Sales

The long-delayed Coyote vs. Acme is taking a trip to Cannes where its international distribution rights will be up for bidding. Deadline reports that the live-action/animation hybrid film, which was revived by Warner Bros. and sold to Ketchup Entertainment earlier this year, will be headed to the famed film festival’s market in order to sell the foreign rights.
The report notes that Grégoire Melin’s Kinology will serve as the international sales agent for Ketchup on the film. Ketchup is handling domestic distribution, with a date yet to be released. There will be footage for potential buyers to see at Cannes and possibly a market screening, though the latter isn’t set in stone yet.
The film stars Will Forte, John Cena and Lana Condor and follows Wile E. Coyote, who hires a lawyer to sue Acme after their products fail him one too many times in his chase of the Roadrunner. Dave Green directed the film, which was initially shelved indefinitely as a tax write-down matter. The report notes that Ketchup paid in the $50 million range for the film, which is said to have had great test screenings.
