Daisy Ridley On Her New Star Wars Film, Says the Story Is ‘Really Cool’
Daisy Ridley recently weighed in on her return to the Star Wars franchise, saying the new film has a “really cool” story. It was reported back in April that Ridley is reprising her role as Rey in a new film, which is directed by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy (Ms. Marvel) film from a script by Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders). Ridley spoke with Collider for a new interview and touched on the film, noting she only knows the storyline of one film thus far. You can see highlights below:
On appearing at Star Wars Celebration for the announcement: “I was sh**ting myself before I went on stage, because no one knew I was going to that. No one knew I was going to Celebration, bar like [Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy] and there were a couple of people. I was so nervous. Oh my god. It was such a wonderful reception. I’m very excited. The story is really cool.“
On if the film will kick off a new trilogy: “I know the storyline for one film. That’s not to say that that’s all it is, but that’s what I was told about. And I imagine it will be the next film, I think. I mean, again, I don’t know, post strikes and everything, how quickly everything will start up again. But yes, so far, I know the story of one film and I think people will be very excited.”
