Dave Bautista In Talks To Star In Netflix’s Unleashed

Dave Bautista looks to be landing a new starring role, as he’s circling the lead role in Netflix’s Unleashed. Deadline reports that the WWE alumnus and Guardians of the Galaxy star is in talks for the starring role in the film, which was written by Jim & Brian Kehoe (Blockers) and will be directed by Jeff Tomsic (Tag). Bautista would also produce alongside his partner Jonathan Meisner, as well as Good Fear’s Chris Bender and Jake Weiner.

The film would star Bautista as, per the site, “a police officer who’s best friends with a canine partner that can sniff out any crime. When Boomer dies on the job, the cop pledges no more pooch partners, until he is teamed with Zeus.”

Bautista is busy on the big screen, with Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery premiering next month at the Toronto International Film Festival and M. Night Shyamlan’s Knock at the Cabin having completed filming. He’s currently shooting on Dune 2.
