DC Films is looking to launch another superhero film, with a movie focused on Hourman in the works. Deadline reports that Warner Bros. and DC Films are teaming with Chernin Entertainment on a film centered on the Golden Age character, who made his live-action debut on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and is played by Lou Ferrigno, Jr. and Cameron Gellman on Stargirl. Gavin James and Neil Widener are set to write the film, which would be set in the DCEU.

Hourman was created by Ken Fitch and Bernard Baily and made his debut in Adventure Comics #48 in March of 1940. A few people have carried the identity in the DC Universe, but the original version was Rex Tyler. A chemist, Tyler creates a substance that gives him super-strength and endurance for an hour. He joined the Justice Society of America, and his son Rick Tyler (created by Roy Thomas, Dann Thomas, and Todd McFarlane) took on the persona during the iconic “Crisis on Infinite Earths” event.

James and Widener are developing a few films for Warner Bros., currently writing a Hot Wheels adaptation and a sequel to San Andreas.
