Dexter: Resurrection Officially Renewed for Season 2

Dexter Morgan will be back for more mayhem, as Dexter: Resurrection, starring Michael C. Hall, has been renewed for Season 2. Paramount+ officially announced the renewal of the Showtime Original Series for a second season, with the writers’ room now open. Michael C. The show continues from where Dexter: New Blood left off, featuring the reunion of Dexter Morgan (Hall) and his son, Harrison Morgan (Jack Alcott), as the father and son navigate their darkness in the city that never sleeps.

The first season was executive produced by Emmy-nominated writer Clyde Phillips, who previously worked on the original series and Dexter: Original Sin. Phillips also served as showrunner. Resurrection is produced by Paramount Television Studios and Counterpart Studios. Hall was also credited as executive producer along with Scott Reynolds, Tony Hernandez, Lilly Burns, and Marcos Siega.

The Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 renewal follows the recent cancellation of the prequel spinoff series, Dexter: Original Sin. Paramount+ initially announced the show was renewed for another season in April. However, following the recent completion of the Paramount-Skydance merger in August, production of the Dexter franchise moved to Paramount Television Studios from Showtime/MTV Entertainment. Later, the streamer confirmed that the prequel series would not be continuing (h/t THR).

The first season is now available to watch on Paramount+ for Premium plan subscribers. Dexter: Resurrection Season 2 will debut on Paramount+ at a later date.
