Director Tapped For Spyglass’ Hellraiser Reboot
The long-gestating Hellraiser reboot is finally moving forward with a director now attached. THR reports that David Bruckner (The Signal) has signed on to direct the film, which will be written by Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski from a story by David Goyer.
The new film was originally announced last year with Goyer set to write the script. This is the latest attempt to relaunch the franchise, which has fallen into a serious state of disrepair over the years. The last two films in the franchise, 2011’s Hellraiser: Revelations and 2018’s Hellraiser: Judgment, were widely decried by fans for a variety of reasons — not the least of which were the fact that Doug Bradley did not reprise his role as the iconic Cenobyte Pinhead in them. Revelations in particular was rushed into production so that The Weinstein Company could keep their rights to the franchise while working on a remake.
Details on the story for the new film have not yet been revealed.
