So much for those rumors of Emma Stone suing Disney over Cruella’s Disney+ release, as she’s signed a deal to return for the sequel. Deadline reports that Stone has locked down a deal to reprise her role as the titular character in the sequel, which was reported to have been in the works following the first film’s debut in late May.

The news comes after it had been reported that Stone was “weighing her options” in regard to potentially following Scarlett Johansson in suing over Disney’s decision to release Black Widow in theaters and on Disney+. Deadline reports that Stone’s deal is one that “mutually benefits both sides” as the studio navigates its release window models regarding blockbusters and tentpole releases.

Cruella drew a lot of speculation due to its day-and-date release model when it bowed in May, being an expensive film that started off with $21.5 million in its first weekend. The film has proven to have some legs to it though and is up to $85.8 million domestically and $226.1 million worldwide against its $100 million budget. The film’s Disney+ revenue has not been revealed, but clearly the film is profitable enough for the studio to begin work on a sequel.
