Jim Ross has provided an update as he works to heal up from his recent issues, noting that he’s dealing with headaches from his shunt. As previously noted, the WWE Hall of Famer and AEW commentator had brain surgery in August to have a shunt put in. A shunt is a device or tube that allows excess brain fluid to drain away.
Ross spoke about his status on the latest episode of Grilling JR. He noted that he’s headed back in to get a CT scan and talk to a neurosurgeon, as he’s dealing with “blistering headaches” right now. You can see the highlights below (per F4W Online):
On His Medical Schedule:
“I’m proud to be a part of AEW. I still got my playbook, I still got my jersey, I just got to get healthy. We’re working on that right now. CT scan tomorrow, then back to the neurosurgeon later this week.”
On How He’s Feeling:
“This shunt is problematic. Having blistering headaches. They hurt so bad that I wake up in the middle of the night more often than not, you know, 2-3, 4 o’clock in the morning because I got a headache. I watched too many John Wayne movies over my lifetime to say that I’m complaining because I have a headache. The only thing I could say is that it probably would remind me of, what I think anyway, a migraine headache is. They could be debilitating. So that’s the situation. My wound on my skull is healing nicely… I’m breaking s(*t right and left, man. And it’s not any fun whatsoever.”
