Filming Wraps On First Film In New Exorcist Franchise

The new Exorcist franchise brings its first entry this fall, and filming has wrapped on the first film. Deadline reports that production is complete on the first film in the new trilogy, which is being directed by David Gordon Green and will pave the way for the films to follow.

The film stars Leslie Odom Jr., Ellen Burstyn, Ann Dowd, Lidya Jewett, Raphael Sbarge, Jennifer Nettles, and Olivia Marcum and is written by Peter Sattler and Gordon Green. It follows Odom’s character, the father of a possessed child who becomes desperate for aid and tracks down Burstyn’s Chris MacNeil from the 1973 original.
