First Episode of SYFY’s Deadly Class Now Online

SYFY has released the first episode of their upcoming comic book action series Deadly Class online ahead of its premiere on January 16. The series is based on the Image Comics graphic novel and is produced by Joe and Anthony Russo. It was created by Rick Remender and Miles Orion Feldsott. Remender also created the comic with illustrator Wes Craig. It stars Benedict Wong, Benjamin Wadsworth, Lana Condor, Maria Gabriela de Faria, Luke Tennie, Liam James and Michel Duval. Sony Pictures TV and Universal Cable Productions produce, with The Russos, Remender, Feldsott, Mike Larocca, Adam Targum and pilot director Lee Toland Krieger executive producing.

Here’s a synopsis: Deadly Class is set in a dark, comic book world against the backdrop of the late ’80s counterculture. The story follows a homeless teen that is recruited into a storied elite private school where the world’s top crime families send their next generations. Maintaining his moral code while surviving a ruthless curriculum, vicious social cliques, and his own adolescent uncertainties soon prove to be vital. The drama is described as “a coming of age journey full of ancient mystery and teen angst.
