Mad Max creator George Miller says that despite the long wait, sequels to Fury Road will happen. Miller spoke to IndieWire and said that his financial dispute with Warner Bros. over a bonus from the 2015 film is looking close to over, and that he expects his Furiosa spinoff and Mad Max sequel to move forward.

“We’re still solving, we’ve got to play out the Warners thing, it seems to be pretty clear that it’s going to happen,” Miller said. “The chaos has stabilized and it’s become extremely positive as the dust seems to have settled after [the AT&T merger].”

Fury Road starred Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron and was a hit despite the expensive production process, grossing $378.9 million worldwide. It also earned ten Academy Award nominations, taking home awards for Costume Design, Production Design, Makeup and Hairstyling, Film Editing, Sound Editing, and Sound Mixing.
