Eric Draven’s return from the dead has been postponed yet again. Deadline reports that Jason Momoa and director Corin Hardy have left Sony’s planned remake of The Crow. The news comes after Sony itself was close to exiting as the worldwide distributor. This is said to be due to creative and financial differences with Samuel Hadidda’s Davis Films, which has the rights to the project and is producing. Filming was set to begin in Budapest in the next month. It was already in pre-production.

The release date was set for October 11, 2019, although the deal had reportedly not closed so Sony backed out. The film would have been a new version of James O’Barr’s graphic novel, previously adapted in 1994 by Alex Proyas. This is the second time a director has left the project.
